ANCIENT LOVE POETRY – Overall Rating: 9/10. Beautiful (oooh the CGI is top notch!) romantic epic love story.

ARE YOU THE ONE – Overall Rating: 7.5/10. An interesting romance plot line for sure, but got draggy around ep 30.

ASHES OF LOVE – Overall Rating: 7/10. I adored the first half, then felt like all the joy was sucked out of my soul watching the second half. Probably would have enjoyed that, too, if I hadn’t already seen better dramas.

BACK FROM THE BRINK – Overall Rating: 8/10. Started out better than it ended. Had a good time for a long time though. “Simple Dragon,” as I have named him, was such a fun character – who doesn’t love a man who has been savagely and brutally betrayed by love slowly coming around and opening his heart to the girl who’s got his heart protecting scale? The FL in this was consistently adorable and charming. Even though it dragged at the end (honestly don’t most cdramas?), this was still a cute and wholesome story that felt fresh.

BLOSSOM – Overall Rating: 6/10. People loved this show, but I was not one of them. I would recommend you try it, as many, many people absolutely adored this one but I could not figure out why.

THE BLOSSOMING LOVE – Overall Rating: 10/10. Amazing and exceedingly romantic! I adored this show and had a blast watching it. A total surprise hit, as I was not expecting much from this one. THE BLUE WHISPER – Overall Rating: 6/10. Listen I watched the whole cheesy show. There were moments where I was having a good time but overall the drama just did not live up to its own story. I blame a serious lack of chemistry between the leads. The side characters became more intriguing. I would have dropped it halfway except I was thirsting after the angsty brother and that sexy evil fairy lady… and sometimes you just want a really cheesy show after a long day at work.

BUTTERFLIED LOVER – Overall Rating: 6/10. Gorgeous, sensual, and bit spooky but for a short drama the story dragged like crazy. Born sexy yesterday plot line with monster girls.

THE DEMON HUNTER’S ROMANCE – Overall Rating 9/10. I had so much fun watching this show and the developing romance between the leads. Was a perfect show to me until ending, cause the last episode was garbage and I will never get over how bad it was.

DESTINED – Overall Rating: 8/10. The first half was a 10/10 – it was outstanding! But the second half… did we even need it? Seriously though the first half was wonderful. Watch it until they bang then do yourself a favor and turn it off.

ETERNAL BROTHERHOOD: Season 1 – Overall Rating: 8/10. A bit murky in the world building and they should not have overdubbed the actress playing Ning, but other than that – it’s a solid costume drama, lots of palace politics with double-talk and manipulation and insane rules – a hint of some supernatural? stuff going on – and three hot bestie dudes kicking ass and occasionally chatting up their various ladies. It’s not what I expected at all – I don’t know what I expected – but I’ll save final judgement until Part 2 comes out.

ETERNAL LOVE – Overall Rating: 9/10. Solid epic romantic costume drama. Lots of cuddling in bed in this one, which was nice for a married couple.

FAMILIAR STRANGER – Overall Rating: 8/10. Sexy, sensual, visually gorgeous short series about swapped identities and lovers… and weak plot.

FANGS OF FORTUNE – Overall Rating: 10/10. Had me sobbing and swooning every episode. Loved it. Full Review.

FOLLOW YOUR HEART – Overall Rating: 7/10. A decent show with a stellar cast. The leads felt more like besties than lovers. The premise was wild and should have blown us away with crazy storylines and plot twists… but nope. Ended up just being kinda standard.

FOX SPIRIT MATCHMAKER: RED-MOON PACT – Overall Rating: NA. Abandoned it around ep 18 due to stunning lack of chemistry between main leads.

THE FRAGMENTS OF KYLIN – Overall Rating: 7/10. Cute, campy, lightweight xianxia fun.

FEUD – Overall Rating: 5/10. What a mess. What a visually gorgeous, frustrating mess. Read More.

THE GLORY – Overall Rating: 8/10. Similar vibes to The Double but not quite as over the top. The leads were wicked and fun, but lacked chemistry. I still liked the show though. Read More.

GOODBYE MY PRINCESS – Overall Rating: 6/10. Promising start but ultimately did not capture my heart. To love a tragedy you must emphasize with the characters and I did not.

GUARDIANS OF THE DAFENG – Overall Rating: 6.5/10. An excellent drama that was just not to my personal taste, thus the low rating. If you like comedy and shonen-esque stories, however, this is for you. Great actors and unique story kept me watching – plot became more serious towards the end.

HARD TO FIND – Overall Rating: 8/10. It’s a simple, low budget tale of a pissy, bitter man out to destroy the woman who betrayed his people… except ooops she has amnesia and doesn’t remember anything and ooops she’s super sweet and ooops he may be in love with her.

HEROES (2022) – Overall Rating: 9/10. Epic, brutal, and sad this drama about three swordsmen drawn into power schemes will gut you like a fish. I loved it.

I AM NOBODY – Overall Rating: 5/10. An excellent drama that is just not to my personal taste, thus the low rating (it’s my blog, ya dig?). It’s very much like watching a live action anime. Fun, campy, action show that I won’t be watching the second season of.

IMMORTAL SAMSARA – Overall Rating: 10/10. I wasn’t even sure I liked this for a while then suddenly it latched onto my brain and made me completely insane over it. Cheng Yi is the most beautiful creature to ever wear a long wig. This drama took me several weeks to watch as i purposefully drew it out to prolong my enjoyment. Mmmm mmmm savor it.

IN BLOSSOM – Overall Rating: NA. I like the male lead but abandoned this one halfway through.

THE JOURNEY OF CHONG ZI – Overall Rating: 6/10. Meh. I watched half of it before bailing. It wasn’t horrible… but it wasn’t good enough to bother finishing either.

A JOURNEY TO LOVE – Overall Rating: 10/10. My babies! I adored this show. I loved the mature leads (and the immature ones, too!). The plot was awesome, the characters were all unique and had solid story arcs, and I even liked the last chunk when it got impossibly serious. This show ruled.

JOY OF LIFE: Season 1 – Overall Rating: 10/10. This was a spectacular show with wonderful character development and a complicated, fresh plot that completely sucked me in.

JOY OF LIFE: Season 2 – Overall Rating: 8/10. It was still good but felt more on the nose this round. Still looking forward to the final season, cause this show is unique.

KILL ME, LOVE ME – Overall Rating: 6/10. Though this started out strong it quickly became a bore. The leads had zero chemistry.

THE LAST IMMORTAL – Overall Rating: 9/10. Enjoyed every episode, though I confess no one was really a huge standout. It was just solid all the way through, a safe bet. The leading female in this was honestly so sassy and cute, I adored her. And I liked the ML who absolutely did not have a shred of interest in becoming a god and please can someone take that destiny away from him and did he mention he’d really just rather not deal with it and if you’re gonna make him then he’s gonna bend a bunch of rules and not ascend and just hang around with the demigods and please just stop bowing oh my god this poor dude just loathed his fate and I loved him for that. Snaps to the particularly slow, slow burn side romances: Never has a simple small house wedding or seeing a red string of fate tied to an immortal made me squeal at my television like the last episode of this show.

THE LEGEND OF SHEN LI – Overall Rating: 10/10. Perfection. Full Review.

LEGEND OF ZANG HAI – Overall Rating: 10/10. An epic character-driven mystery revenge story worth the investment of your time. Unique, complicated, and full of tension filled episodes. Read More.

THE LEGENDS – Overall Rating: 8.5/10. I am a sucker for a dom girl and her hot sub boyfriend… and so is China, apparently, as this is not the first nor the last drama I’ve seen with this dynamic. Though this may be the most overt. Totally fun show. Dragged a bit towards the end but still enjoyable. Loved all the friendships in this one, a rare treat.

THE LONG BALLAD – Overall Rating: 7.5/10. I honestly didn’t much care for this but I adored the storyline and romance of the second leads sooo soo much!

LOST YOU FOREVER (Part 1) – Overall Rating: 10+/10. Obsessed. Loved it.

LOST YOU FOREVER (Part 2) – Overall Rating: 8/10. A bit of a let down but still ultimately a satisfying ending for all my beloved insane characters.

LOVE & LOYALTY – Overall Rating: 6/10. A sexy little show that still manages to die at the halfway mark despite its short run time.

LOVE & REDEMPTION – Overall Rating: 10/10. Took me a while to warm up to this one but then it just synced up with my brain and I luuuuuuved it so much so so so much. No one has ever pined for another like Cheng Yi pined in this show.

LOVE BETTER THAN IMMORTALITY – Overall Rating: 9/10. It was a terrible drama with an aggressively flirtatious male lead and a grinning girl who is enjoying every second of it. Read Review.

LOVE BETWEEN FAIRY & DEVIL – Overall Rating: 10/10. A Demon King is Inconvenienced Into Love. The first cdrama I watched all the way through, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Read Full Review.

LOVE GAME IN EASTERN FANTASY – Overall Rating: 7/10. Cute, funny, and entertaining. An excellent light story to enjoy after binging something melodramatic or dark. Admittedly, I got bored towards the end, though, and had to force myself to finish it.

LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY – Overall Rating: 8/10. This is more of a slice of life drama, with excellent writing and world building and I enjoyed the intimacy of feeling very much a part of this world. But ultimately not my favorite cup of tea. I would recommend it to cdrama fans though.

LOVE IN PAVILION – Overall Rating: 9/10. Swoonworthy, heartbreakingly sad romances galore in this visually stunning drama featuring tons of couples played by beautiful actors. Read More.

LOVE OF THE DIVINE TREE – Overall Rating: 7/10. Other than swooning at the beauty of the male lead’s face, I did not have a particularly good time with this show. Read More.

LOVE YOU SEVEN TIMES – Overall Rating: 7/10. Cute. Just a cutesy, funny, romantic xianxia. Loved the leading male in his incarnation as a fox demon (that wig!). This is a good palette cleanser drama to watch if you’ve just finished a more serious show or need a little break and just wanna see something that will make you laugh in between swooning over the romance.

MAID’S REVENGE – Overall Rating: 9/10. A Wattpad Story. A short, ridiculous, problematically sexy revenge drama that would have been vastly improved with an R rating.

MELODY OF A GOLDEN AGE – Overall Rating: 7/10. Dragged on too long. Good story but not good enough for the run time.

MISS THE DRAGON – Overall Rating: 7/10. Dragon guy is usually decent but a wooden plank in this show. Secondary characters were cute though. Kind of a throw away drama.

A MOMENT BUT FOREVER – Overall Rating: 9/10. A unique fantasy romance with two very interesting leads who have some fascinating conversations while saving the world and whatnot. Read More.

MOONLIGHT MYSTIQUE – Overall Rating: 6/10. Zero chemistry between the leads. Not a particularly interesting plot. And the entire show had terrible lighting, stripping the show of its magic and revealing every chip of paint in the set pieces. Read More.

MY JOURNEY TO YOU – Overall Rating: 6/10. This is Depression ASMR. Everyone speaks in a low voice, the music is low and moody, the sets are all dark and moody, it’s nearly impossible to stay awake during this show – other than the action sequences which will sometimes wake you up.

MY LADY GENERAL – Overall Rating: 8/10. A short drama that was hella cute. Sometimes you need a romance about a scheming, wormy villain guy and his dim but good hearted army gf.

MYSTERIOUS LOTUS CASEBOOK – Overall Rating: 9.5/10. Cheng Yi is my kryptonite and watching him play a grumpy, resigned washed up hero who gets pulled back into the thick of things by his adoring and adorably doofy pseudo-apprentice and his former rival/enemy (with serious boyfriend vibes) was my jam. Plus mystery solving!

NOVOLAND: EAGLE FLAG – Overall Rating: 9.5/10. Epic, sprawling action story centered around three incredible characters. Enjoyed every episode of this, even though nothing turned out like I expected it to (which was awesome).

OH NO! HERE COMES TROUBLE (Taiwanese) – Overall Rating: 10/10. What a weird little show? I was captivated by every episode, and honestly… cried nearly every episode as well. It was both heartbreaking and feel good at the same time? Reminded me of Move to Heaven in that respect. I think everyone should check out this show just for being unique and giving us three unusual but loveable leads.

ONLY FOR LOVE – Overall Rating: NA. Good but I dropped it at ep 17 as I have zero interest in rich people or contemporary stories right now… the world is a economic nightmare and I can’t really stomach any drama celebrating the 1%. Fantasy, Historical, or Sci Fi only for this gal. Reality? I want none of it.

PRINCESS AGENTS – Overall Rating: NA. Dropped at ep 21. Ya’ll I tried so hard to like it but just… was not vibing. If I had seen this BEFORE I watched Shen Li I may have enjoyed it more.

RESET – Overall Rating: 10/10. A tightly written, exciting, romantic time travel action adventure featuring two lovably sweet leads who are fighting against time to solve the mystery of an exploding passenger bus and save everyone inside it, themselves included. I don’t watch many contemporary cdramas, but I would recommend this drama highly to everyone, regardless of what your preferred genre is.

THE ROMANCE OF TIGER & ROSE – Overall Rating: ???. Sigh. Is that a heavy sigh? A disappointed sigh? A sigh of joy? Exasperation? Ey… I honestly don’t know how I feel about this show. I watched it. It was… something. Cutesy. It’s cutesy. If you like that then here you go.

SNOWFALL – Overall Rating: 8/10. I had a good time watching this unfold each week. The two male leads had insane chemistry and it’s a very campy, goth theatrics type vampire story. Ultimately ended rather blandly.

THE SNOW MOON – Overall Rating: 8/10. A sexy little melodramatic fantasy story, only 8 eps, definitely worth a watch.

STAND BY ME – Overall Rating: 7/10. As much as I love and adore Cheng Yi (who was awesome), this story could have used some major editing in my opinion.

STARRY LOVE – Overall Rating: 8/10. Simple & Sweet Swap Story. Who doesn’t love a classic tale of switched identities?

THE UNTAMED – Overall Rating: 10/10. Unlike most shows, I thought this one got significantly better in the second half, with the last ten episodes being the most dramatic. The plants and payoffs in this show were well done and yeah… the romance felt epic. The hype is real.

WHITE CAT LEGEND – Overall Rating: 8.5/10. Just a bunch of goofy, lovable idiots and the shape shifting genius detective forced to work with them all. It was clever, funny, and fast paced. No romance. Not even good ships. And I still had a blast cause sometimes you just need a different type of story and this certainly felt fresh and unique.

THE WOLF – Overall Rating: 7.5/10. Sad AF, melodrama with a very 2012 K-drama vibe to it. The leading man, however, may be the most attractive dude I have ever seen and had me daydreaming.

WONDERLAND OF LOVE – Overall Rating: 8/10. Attractive main couple, frenemies to lovers. Though it looked epic, it never quite felt that way. Surprisingly underwhelming.

WORD OF HONOR – Overall Rating: 10/10. It’s a BL, folks. You read Danmei? I mean… why would I ask… obviously if you read Danmei you have watched this show and love it too.

WU LIN HEROES – Overall Rating: 8/10. If you liked Love Better Than Immortality, you’ll probably like this too. Just a fun little romp of a xanxia fantasy show.
