Review – Fool in Love

Fool in Love is still airing (episode 7 just dropped) and to say I am obsessed with it is the understatement of the year.

Ing may be my favorite character of all time.

I have read the book (title variations include: In Love with an Idiot, My Beloved Fool, You’re in Love with an Idiot by Shui Qian Cheng) at least three times. I reread it every time I stumble across a different translation of it, because honestly translation variety can completely change a story. Even the subpar translations were fun. The first time I read it, I had Google auto translate it from Chinese to English and it was a mess… but I still couldn’t stop reading.

It’s a story about a successful young CEO pushing 30 years old (yeah, I know, I know, it’s fiction and he comes from money that’s why he already owns a massively profitable business) who falls in love/lust at first sight with his younger brother’s best friend. He then shamelessly and relentlessly pursues the guy. All hell breaks loose. Multiple times. The two men are extremely volatile and strong personality types who clash and then mesh and then clash and then mesh over and over again. It’s delicious.

I won’t say more now. I’ll come back and write a full review of this once it’s finished airing.

Here is the trailer. If you have IQIYI… start watching it now! I guarantee you will be spell bound by it.
